Google Adsense Must fix column | Google Must fix column

Google AdSense Must fix column for Adsense.

Recently Google adsense just launched a new column called “must fix column” for all Google Adsense publishers.

Must fix column in Policy Center in Ads products to clearly call out the issues that are mandatory for maintaining a healthy account. Through this survey, we would like to know your thoughts about the “Must fix” column.

The Policy center displays all of the current enforcements on your sites. Enforcements can either block all advertising (for example, “Ad serving disabled”) or restrict which advertisers can bid on your inventory (for example, “Restricted demand”).

You may receive enforcements due to various issues with your content:

  • Policy violations that must be fixed. Policy violations are enforced with either “Ad serving disabled” or “Restricted demand”.
  • Publisher restrictions are not policy violations so you don’t need to change your content or ad requests. However, content with publisher restrictions receive “Restricted demand”.

How to find out if your Google AdSense must fix column need to be fixed

Tip: To find out if you need to take action on an enforcement, review the “Must fix” column in your Policy center. The column will say “Yes” if an enforcement is due to a policy violation. It will say “No” for publisher restrictions.

Filter and download policy violations

You can use the filter and download options in the Policy center to help you find and manage policy violations and publisher restrictions:

Site, section and page-level issues

If you’ve received a notification about your site, a section of your site or a page, check below to find out more about the issue and what action you need to take:

Policy violation

If the “Must fix” column says “Yes”, one of your sites, site sections or pages is not currently in compliance with the Program policies and, as a result, an enforcement has been taken. When the action is taken on a page, then the page is violating policy. When the action is taken on a site or site section, then there are multiple pages within the site or site section that are violating policy. When this occurs, you need to check your entire site or site section and make changes to bring it into compliance with our policies.

After you address the policy violations on your site, site section, or pages, you may request a review. Alternatively, if you want to stop serving ads on the policy violating sites, site sections or pages, you can remove the AdSense ad code from those sites, site sections or pages. The policy violations will be automatically removed from the Policy center within 7-10 days. For Auto ads: add a new page exclusion, and enter the URLs of the pages that you don’t want ads to appear on.

Publisher restriction

If the “Must fix” column says “No”, it means that your site has content that falls under the Google Publisher Restrictions. While you can choose to monetize this type of content, you will likely receive reduced advertising as not all ad sources will be able to bid on it.

If you address any of the publisher restrictions on your site, site section, or pages, you may request a review. Alternatively, if you want to stop serving ads on the pages, you can remove the AdSense ad code from your pages and they will be automatically removed from the Policy center within 7-10 days. For Auto adscreate a new URL group, select the pages that you want to stop serving ads on and leave all of the ad formats unselected.

Warning (sites only)

A warning means that one or more of your sites is not currently in compliance with the AdSense Program policies. To resolve this, you need to make changes to your site to bring it into compliance. Some pages of the site may also have page-level or section-level enforcements with restricted ad serving.

If you don’t make changes, further actions may be taken on your site or account.

Requesting a review

After you’ve made the required changes for a policy violation and/or the optional changes for a publisher restriction, you may request a review of your site. Note that there’s a monthly limit on the number of reviews you can request.

Note: Please also check any user-generated and third-party content on your pages (such as user comments, content recommendations, and ads) to ensure that you’ve removed any violating material.
  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. Click Account Policy center.
  3. In the “Sites with enforcements” section, find and click the site with the enforcement.
  4. Click the Down arrow to open the detailed view of the enforcement.
  5. Click Request review.
  6. Complete the form and click Request review.

We’ll typically review your site within one week but sometimes it can take longer. Based on the results of the review, enforcements may be removed. If other issues are found, the Policy center and enforcement will be updated appropriately.

Account-level enforcements

Limited ad serving

Limited ad serving means Google has placed a limit on the number of ads your AdSense account can show. Learn more about ad serving limits.

Suspension

If you receive a suspension it means that your account has been suspended due to one or more AdSense Program policyviolations. We recommend you use the suspension period to investigate the sources of invalid traffic, identify and block suspicious traffic, and put measures in place to ensure your ad traffic complies with our guidelines and policies. Learn more about keeping your account in good standing.

During the suspension, no ads are shown, your payments are on hold, and your latest revenue may be deducted from your account and refunded to advertisers. After the suspension period, we’ll automatically re-enable ad serving, remove the payment hold and monitor your account to ensure compliance. Note that you cannot request a review for an account suspension. For more information, see: account suspended for invalid traffic or policy reasons.

If additional issues are found, either during the suspension period or after your account suspension ends, your account may be permanently disabled.

Impacted products

The violations can be related to sites and pages that use various products. To help you solve the issue, each issue provides the list of impacted products for that given violation:

  • AdSense for content
  • AdSense for video
  • AdSense for games

I removed my AdSense ad code. Why can I still see a page-level violation in my Policy center?

It can take up to a week for our systems to re-check your page. After we’ve confirmed that there’s no longer any AdSense ad code present, the page-level violation will disappear from your Policy center.

Why can’t I request a review for one of my page-level violations?

There are several reasons why you might not be able to request a review for a page-level violation:

  • You’ve reached your monthly limit of reviews.
  • You already have a review in progress for that page.
  • It’s a type of policy violation that you can’t request a review for in the Policy center. For example, some copyright and malware policy violations have their own review process. If your content has been removed due to a Digital Millennium Copyright Act Notice of Infringement, you can file a counter-notification request here. For malware violations, visit your Google Search Console and request a review.

Why was my review for a page-level violation canceled?

We canceled your review either because your page was inaccessible to our reviewers or because there was no AdSense ad code on your page. When reviewing your page, we require that it’s both accessible and that it contains AdSense ad code.

Will I see a red alert notification on my AdSense home page if I receive a page-level violation?

No, but you’ll be able to review all page-level violations in your Policy center. We’ll also notify you by email if you receive a page-level violation.

What’s the difference between the AdSense Policy Report email and other AdSense policy emails?

AdSense Policy Report emails only cover page-level violations and enforcements. Site-level and account-level enforcement notifications are sent via separate emails.

Does the Policy center show all pages found to be in violation of the Google Program policies?

No. The Policy center shows violating pages that have generated ad requests in the last 7-10 days. Certain pages (for example, those with very low daily traffic) will not appear in the Policy center. You’re responsible for ensuring that your properties comply with our Program policies at all times. We suggest that you regularly check your sites and pages for compliance.
